The Guam Symphony Society
is a non-profit organization that provides support for both the Guam Symphony
Orchestra and the Guam Symphony Chorale. Founded in 1967, the Society is
currently in it's 39th season. The orchestra and Chorale consists of
approximately 75 dedicated musicians from Guam, Saipan, and Japan, who volunteer
their time and talent toward an international musical exchange.
Favorite events include the
Symphony Seaside Concert in December and our exciting Harmony Fair which
features various performing ensembles. Another traditional island favorite,
Musikan Famagu'on is a concert presented to more than 2,000 of our island's
fifth grade students.
Our Orchestra and Chorale
play an important role in the musical life of the island. The only
organization of its kind in Micronesia, the Guam Symphony Society is dedicated
to providing opportunities for musicians and listeners to experience quality
symphonic music.
